Are we open for class during COVID?

Due to COVID and our concern about our clients health safety and that of the instructors we are currently open but at a limited capacity.  We will do our best to find space in the schedule for all requests but if we can not we can add you to our waitlist and notify you with availability.  We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Are the classes in English or Spanish?

We offer classes in both english an spanish.  Tenemos clases tanto en ingles y español.

Where are you located?

We are located on the Carretera Salida a Celaya 6 in the Plaza Magnolia, proceed through the tunnel to the courtyard and go up the stairs to the second floor.  We are in the tall glass structure.

What do I need to bring to class?

Mats, towels and class accessories are provided by the studio.  We are currently no longer offering water at the studio due to COVID so we ask that you bring your own water bottle.  We also ask that you come with cleans socks for class.

What should I wear?

It is important for the instructor to be able to see your form during class so form fitting clothes are preferred.  No loose fitting t-shirt, baggy pants or shorts.  Shoes are not needed during a Mat or Reformer class but you are welcome to wear tennis shoes for the Barre class although not required.  There are special socks with a grippy bottom that are often used in both Pilates or Barre classes.

How many people are allowed in class?

SMA Pilates + Barre limits 8 spaces for the Mat, Barre and Piloxing classes and there are 3 spaces for Reformer classes.

How do I schedule a private or duet lesson?

Please schedule all private and duet lessons by emailing, kaley@smapilates.com, the studio directly so we can get you set you with a custom designed lesson as well as choose an hour that is available.

What if I have an old or current injury?

Pilates is an excellent and respected way to work your way back from an injury.  It is recommended to start with private sessions until the instructor clears you for class.  Pilates has been found to be very beneficial to a multitude of issues and injuries.  Pilates can be modified to the individual so that you are able to move in a safe and effective way all the while rehabilitating the body.  Please always inform the instructor of any current injuries or past injuries.

Can I do Pilates or Barre while pregnant?

Absolutely!  With clearance from your doctor, both Pilates and Barre are ideal forms of movement for pre and post- natal.  Both are designed with modifications for each stage of pregnancy including the post natal and have been shown to help alleviate lower back pain, increase energy and relieve stress.  Pilates will help strengthen the crucial pelvic floor muscles that are need for labor as well to prevent post natal issues.

Do I need to sign up beforehand? Cancellation?

Yes.  SMA Pilates + Barre is a small boutique studio with the intention of giving our clients as much individual attention as possible so to do this we keep our classes small.  To ensure you have your place in class please reserve with the online booking.  You are able to reserve ahead as many classes as you have in your account.  We have a 24hr cancellation policy.  If your class or private session is cancelled with 24hrs notice there will be no charge, anything after 24hrs the class or private will be deducted from your account.

How do I put my name on the wait list for a class?

Email kaley@smapilates.com and we will add you to the waitlist for that class.  If space becomes available we will email or call you as soon as possible.

How long are classes?

Pilates, Barre and Piloxing classes are 55 minutes except Express classes which are is 45 minutes.

Studio Policies

Cancellations

Due to class sizes we must be strict regarding our cancellation policy of 24hrs notice for all classes, privates and duets.  All classes and appointments need to be cancelled or rescheduled with 24hrs notice otherwise the class or appointment will be deducted from your account.  Please be sure to have an up to date email on file and check the box for reminders and notifications to ensure you receive email reminders for appointments.  You can cancel your appointment through the online booking or by emailing kaley@smapilates.com

Wait list

If a class is full you are still welcome to add your name to the wait list by emailing kaley@smapilates.com or come by to see if there is a cancellation.  All wait listed clients will be notified by email that they have been added to the class.

All sales are final and we cannot offer refunds.  All 5, 10 and 20 class packages expire in 3 months unless otherwise specified.  

For safety reason please notify instructor of any current or past injuries.

Please silence cell phones during class.

Please wear appropriate studio clothing and clean socks.
